North 24th St Streetscape Improvements

The purpose of this project is to enhance the safety, accessibility, and aesthetics of North 24th Street from Ohio Street to Sahler Street.

Project Features

City presented project updates at BID’s 2026 Partners Meeting on 2/23/26. The next Partners Meeting was originally scheduled for 10/26/26. However, due to schedule conflicts with Mayor Ewing’s North Omaha Townhall at the Highlander Accelerator on October 26th, the North 24th Street BID is canceling this Partners Meeting and will look to reschedule it. We encourage your attendance at Mayor Ewing’s Town Hall to stay informed about programs happening city-wide.
The City’s subconsultant, Wilson & Co., has finalized conceptual designs of roundabout projects at Binney, Sprague, and Hamilton. These potential future projects are not included in the current project due to the funding limitations. However, the City plans to begin design for the roundabouts at Binney and Sprague with anticipated construction in 2028.
The City is in the process of scoping the next phase of the streetscaping along North 24th Street from Ohio Street to Patrick Avenue (OPW #54833). Details will be posted on Keep Omaha Moving once our consultant is under contract.

Confluence joined the design team as a subconsultant to Schemmer to provide master plan conformance review and landscaping design.
- Received Notice to Proceed (NTP) on 2/3/2026.
- Responsible for the North 24th St. Streetscape Master Plan in 2020-2021 (https://confluence.mysocialpinpoint.com/north24)
Schemmer and Confluence received Final Design NTP on 3/11/26.
PS&E (100%) Plans submitted on 5/19/26 for City review.
- City review completed on 6/2/26
PS&E (100%) submission on 6/9/26. Upon NDOT review, final documents were resubmitted on 7/6/26 and 8/12/26 to address revisions required by NDOT before advertising.
The project was advertised on 9/8/26 and the bid letting occurred on 10/1/26.
- Tab Holding Co., Inc., d/b/a TAB Construction was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $8,700,854.23
- This is pending approval at the 10/20/26 City Council meeting.
