North 24th St Streetscape Improvements

The purpose of this project is to enhance the safety, accessibility, and aesthetics of North 24th Street from Ohio Street to Sahler Street.

  • Design Notice to Proceed: February 2025
  • Preliminary Design Submittal: May 2025
  • Right-of-Way (if necessary): June 2025 – April 2026
  • Final Design Submittal: May 2026
  • Bid for Construction: August 2026
  • Construction Begins: Spring 2027

  • BID to provide a selection of Acorn pole height following Urban Design feedback
Design (PE) Status
  • Schemmer submitted Post Plan-in-Hand (PPIH) package on August 27, 2025
  • City of Omaha, NDOT, and Stakeholders are concurrently reviewing the PPIH package
  • Urban Design Review Board application submitted on August 29, 2025
  • City of Omaha is anticipating a NTP to proceed with Right-of-Way process
Environmental (NEPA) Status
  • Threatened and Endangered biological assessment submitted on September 03, 2025
Upcoming Milestones
  • PCM 35 meeting schedule on September 8, 2025
  • Urban Design Review meeting is scheduled for September 18, 2025
  • Public Information Meeting (after PIH) TBD
