130th St & I St Median

The intersection of 130th Street & I Street in southwest Omaha has experienced an increase in angle crashes. The City of Omaha has considered options for improvements to mitigate the crashes. The most effective and cost-effective measure was to restrict movements at the intersection. All restricted movements would continue to have access to the adjacent street network through other routes.

Project Features

Improvements

The City of Omaha Public Works Department will install tubular posts and curbing to restrict several movements at the intersection. The changes to the intersection will allow for northbound and southbound right turns only from 130th Street, and eastbound and westbound left turns from I Street.

Schedule

The access changes at 130th Street & I Street are expected to be complete October to November of 2026.

Map showing that traffic will be restricted from making left turns and going straight heading north on 130th St. Traffic will also be restricted from making left turns or going straight heading southbound on 130th St.
